Clinical Level 2 & 3
An advanced introduction to the INRstar anticoagulation management system for users such as Registered Nurses, Prescribers, GPs or Pharmacists.
About This Course
This advanced course is designed for INRstar users who have been assigned Clinical Level 2 or 3 permissions (for example - Registered nurses, Nurse Prescribers, Anticoagulation Nurses, GPs or Pharmacists etc.). The course covers both the core INRstar workflows and advanced features, including finding patients and managing treatment plans, through complex INR management, Skip and Boost, Bridging anticoagulation, quality control processes including PoCT, IQC, and EQC, to conducting warfarin and non-warfarin clinical reviews.
Learning Objectives
- Find patients and navigate the INRstar Home page and treatment record
- Add and update patient demographic information
- Create and manage warfarin and non-warfarin treatment plans
- Add simple, complex, historical, and out-of-range INR results
- Use the Skip and Boost feature to manage warfarin dosing in specific clinical situations
- Create and manage bridging records in INRstar, from the pre-schedule details through to completion
- Record and maintain PoCT batch numbers for coagulometers
- Add, edit and delete Internal Quality Control (IQC) results
- Record External Quality Control results using parallel samples and NEQAS/WEQAS
- Conduct and document a warfarin clinical review
- Conduct and document a non-warfarin (DOAC/VKA) clinical review
