Anticoagulation for Healthcare Professionals
This comprehensive e-learning course from Helicon Health gives healthcare professionals a structured, evidence-based overview of anticoagulation in clinical practice. It covers the principles of coagulation, commonly used anticoagulants, stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation, and the assessment and management of DVT and PE. The course supports the application of current NICE and ESC guidance, validated risk assessment tools and appropriate anticoagulation regimens, helping learners build confidence in assessing patients and applying anticoagulation principles across a range of clinical settings. The course takes approximately 6.5 hours to complete.
Warfarin in Anticoagulation
Develop confidence in the safe management of warfarin and other vitamin K antagonists through this detailed e-learning course from Helicon Health. Combining clinical evidence with practical application, the course covers INR interpretation, treatment initiation and dose adjustment, as well as the drug, dietary and lifestyle factors that can influence anticoagulation control. Learners will also explore adverse effects, decision-support tools, near-patient INR testing, patient self-monitoring, service governance and patient education. Across ten modules, the course provides a comprehensive approach to supporting safe and effective anticoagulation practice and takes approximately 8.5 hours to complete.
DOACs in Anticoagulation
Explore the safe and effective use of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) with this clinically focused e-learning course from Helicon Health. Grounded in scientific evidence, it develops the practical knowledge needed to select appropriate DOAC therapy and apply dosing and pharmacokinetic principles to individual patients. Learners also examine clinically important drug interactions, adverse effects and their management, alongside practical approaches to patient education and supporting safe treatment. The course comprises five flexible modules designed to support application in routine clinical practice and takes approximately 4 hours to complete.
